  • Book Trailer

Jun 2012   Ok, so there's no actual book yet, but I really wanted a trailer to visually represent my trilogy. Thank you to Nathan Herbertson of Stunna Designs for creating it! I'm super happy with the result.
  • Katherine's Rabbity Launch

Sep 2011   With our toddler and new baby in tow, my husband and I bravely ventured up to Brisvegas for the launch of Katherine Battersby's picture book Squish Rabbit. It was a gorgeous morning with activities and entertainment for the kids, carroty snacks and a beautiful reading of the book. Although a baby meltdown had us saying an early goodbye, we became thoroughly enraptured with Squish on the drive home to the Gold Coast, as our eldest daughter asked me to to read it five times. Congratulations Katherine!
  • Somerset Celebration of Literature

Mar 2011   This year's Somerset Celebration of Literature was an inspiring treat for both writers and readers. The Welcome Aboard Party was a gorgeous, fun affair, with the Somerset student hosts really making us feel we had boarded a ship. There were fun games to help the guests mingle with the authors, and I enjoyed conversations with authors Steph Bowe and Richard Newsome. Kate Forsyth and Michael Pryor had excellent advice for fantasy writers in the Fantasia session, and as a YA writer, I loved the Challenging Teens session with Cath Crowley, Kirsty Eager and James Phelan.
  • Pond Magic Launch

Oct 2010   Congratulations to brand new author and my very good friend Angela Sunde, who launched her first book this month at Marks and Gardner Gallery on Mount Tamborine. With everyone dressed up in magical themes, it was an enchanting afternoon complete with little fairies (including my daughter) dancing in the garden. Pond Magic is a must-read for pre-teens!
  • Belinda Jeffery's Launch

Sep 2010   After reading Belinda's wonderful first book Brown Skin Blue, I was really looking forward to attending the launch of Big River Little Fish at Avid Reader. Apparently so was everyone else in South East Queensland - it was packed! Congratulations Belinda on a successful launch. I'm sure your hand is still aching from all that signing! Can't wait to read it.
  • CYA Conference

Sep 2010   Had an absolute blast at the CYA Later Alligator Conference in Brisbane on Saturday 4 September. Thank you Tina and Ally for organising it! It was fantastic to glean some knowledge from authors like Kate Forsyth and Steve Cole (who has sooo much energy!). And how wonderful to see my good friend Angela Sunde launch her very first book - a gorgeous Penguin Aussie Chomp called Pond Magic. It's such a thrill to see the story make its way from manuscript to published book! Sheryl Gwyther also launched her new book Charlie and the Red Hot Chilli Pepper which I am really looking forward to reading. Congratulations guys!
  • Byron Brilliance

Aug 2010   What a treat it was to attend the Byron Writers Festival this year. After a super early start on the Sunday, I drove down to Byron armed with a Masai Zarraffas coffee and my husband's copy of The Six Sacred Stones. Matthew Reilly's session with Jack Heath was both informative and entertaining, and yes, I did get the book signed! The un-advertised publishers seminar was excellent ... I'm so glad I stumbled across it. Publishers from Pan Macmillan, Harper Collins and Random House all gave their advice about getting published. A fabulous event.
  • Literati Glitterati

May 2010   This year was the first time I've attended the Literati dinner and it was excellent. I met authors Tristan Bancks, Christine Bongers, Belinda Jeffrey and Richard Newsome and enjoyed some writerly chats over a scrumptious three-course dinner. Now I have an enormous pile of new books to read!
  • The End! But just the beginning...

Jan 2009   My final draft of Beyond the Reef, is complete. The quest to seek publication begins!
